John Knox A Taylor Innes 9781374863873 Books
Innes states regarding Knox that, "He believed fundamentally in the gracious Word of God revealed to man, as overriding and over-ruling all other authorities." Later in the book Innes regards Knox as "the greatest public man whom Scotland has known." And yet, Innes states that "Knot's public life as not the whole of his work: in bulk, it was a small part of it."One sample quote of Knox's recorded in this work: "The Mass is invented by the brain of man without any commandment of God, therefore it is idolatry."
Although the incident is not recorded in this particular e-book, it is alleged that a small yellow tile with no name on it marked the spot where John Knox was buried. His initials are engraved on the window of the church opposite car space 44 at St Giles' Cathedral, in Edinburgh (where he preached in his later years). Charles Darwin was buried in the floor of Westminster Abbey adjacent to Sir Isaac Newton. Ken Ham, President of Answers in Genesis notes, "A man who popularized an idea that attacks the very foundations of the Church, is honored by a church and buried in a prominent place for the world to see. Yet, a man who stood for the authority of the Word of God is all but forgotten, and his grave is housed in a parking lot."
