Let me start by saying - I Loved this story!DL introduced us to twins Connor and Carson when they were just mischievous 6 year old boys in the Heart of Falcon Ridge. They were cute then, and you just knew they would have a story to tell.
Years later the twins are all grown up, rock stars in their own right with adventures and parties to ride out. The character development of these two is perfect, they are unique yet with a likeness and connection that is palpable.
For those that haven’t read DL Roan’s McLendon Family Saga note this warning – they are about hot cowboys, they contain sexy scenes that depict a menage (or polyamorous) relationship. DL writes this genre with pure class, built with emotion, sex and fun. DL’s prose is seamless, the story captures the emotion of the plot and its progression flawlessly. I am not generally an emotional (as in ugly crying face tears with snot) reader, but very early in this story my heart was breaking and my eyes were glistening.
Anyways, back to the story… Connor and Carson are all grown up, they face many trials and tribulations of young men who are exploring their personalities, needs and wants. Breezy Youngblood is a local girl who has had her own troubles, known to the boys back in the day comes back into their life when they least expect it.
Breezy is a strong character whose resilience resonates with me, her ability to succeed amongst adversity and maintain a forgiving heart endears her to the reader. It would seem that Breezy is the perfect heroine for our Rock Star Cowboys… but nothing is smooth sailing and life continues to take turns for Con, Car and Breezy on their path to a happy ever after.
In my past reviews, I have always felt that while DL nailed the story that I needed something more, so she was constantly on a 4.5 star rating. I can happily say that I was so satisfied with this story that DL has cracked my resolve and 5 stars it is. Take a chance and grab the McLendon Family Saga and meet the whole family!

Let me just say this is the best family ever. I love the McLendon family. They love each other and are there for one another for anything and everything.
You meet Conner and Carson as six year old boys in the first book so it is good to see them grow. I am glad that they are able to find their way when all seems so lost. Everyone has a past and Conner is able to deal with it Carson not so much. They got what they wanted they are County music rock stars. However what is the cost to them? How come they are so last and can not connect like they did when they where young? All questions they go home to work out when one of there papa's become sick. Wither they find what they are looking for or will it be the end for them?
Breezy has always wanted Carson and Conner but one night change everything. After she is sent away and finds out some one from Grassland is helping pay for college she try to find out who. When Joe McLendon ends up needing therapy she go right back to her home town to help him. She knew she would have some ghost to fast but running into Conner and Carson was almost then she could tak. Carson does not want her there and he blames her for things that happen in the past but she knows she has to tell him the truth.
Will the three of them be able to to move past all that has happened? Will the twins find out about the ten year crush she has had on them? What other thing can be thrown in there to cause more trouble?
Get you a copy and read it. It is a fantastic book with a lot of life thrown in there. I personally love every minute of it but so far I have loved all three books. On to book four. Happy reading to all that do read it.
Another excellent book about the McLendon Family and very easy to recommend. Twin brothers Carson & Conner star in this story. They are as much alike as they are different. Yes, I mean exactly that! They are twins, have each others back, for the most part, but are individuals too. Connor is more level headed, sweet & tender and knows exactly what he wants for his future. Carson, the show man, thrives on excitement, spontaneity, is passionate and needs help to reign in his ways before saying something off handed or leaning towards destruction. He holds too much inside but maturity gives him lots of freedom.
Breezy, the lanky girl from the farm next door who came over on Sundays to splash in the creek with the McLendon clan. Largely ignored by the boys, but she still smiled & had a good time. After a major tragedy, she's put into the foster care system and is unheard of for nearly 10 years. She reconnects with the older McLendon's as an occupational therapist. Her transformation over the years and learning about all she endured brought tears to my eyes, but filled my heart. I wanted to hug her, take her to lunch and tell her she found a great friend.
The relationship & bonds between Breezy & the twins has a rough start. It is with open communication, hearing & listening, reconciliation and taking chances that love begins to develop. I've read the series from the start and adore Roan's style of writing. It's very relatable even if your own circumstances vary greatly. There are still good lessons to learn. Looking forward yo reading more of this series, starting with the Honeymoon that is offered free at the end of this book. Thank you.
